A debate competition was held here at Government Primary School No 5 as part of Punjab Youth Festival here the other day.
EDO Education Mian Muhammad Ismail was chief guest on the occasion while DOI Abid Hussain Bhatti organised the event.
DEO (SE) Liaquat Ali Nasir and DEO (EE) Malik Zahoor Ahmad Chohan also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the education department officers said that education had remained top priority of the Punjab government. They said that promotion of education was of paramount importance for the elimination of ignorance and poverty. “The steps being taken by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for the promotion of education are unprecedented” they added.
Later, the EDO and DEOs distributed prizes among the position holders.
APPOINTMENT: District Secretary Scouts Abid Hussain Bhatti has been appointed as District Information Officer (DIO) Education here the other day.
He has assumed the charge of his new assignment. Abid Hussain Bhatti worked for scouts for several years.
Youth Festival tehsil level contests from Jan 3: The Khushab District Education Department has chalked out a plan to organize Punjab Youth Festival 2013-14 competitions at Tehsil level from January 3, 2014. The decision was taken at a meeting which was presided over by DO Education Mian Muhammad Ismail here the other day.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DEO (SE) Liaquat Ali Nasir, DEO (EE) Khushab Malik Zahoor Ahmad Chohan, Deputy DEO (M) Noorpur Thal Sheikh Amjad Ali, Deputy DEO (W) Madam Aziz Akhtar Niazi and DIO (Edu) Jauharabad Abid Hussain Bhatti.
During the meeting, it was decided that the evaluation criteria must be transparent and self-explanatory, slight change in schedule in accordance with the Punjab Examination Commission exams (5th and 8th) and 10th class examination might be allowed.
