The services of late Dr Majid Nizami, Editor-in-chief Daily The Nation and MD Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Publications was eulogized at a condolence reference organized to remember the charismatic personality who left behind a long legacy of principles and righteousness.
A large number of people from all walks of life paid rich tributes to late Dr Majid Nizami and offered special prayers for the departed soul.
Speaking on the occasion, Lodhran DCO Mohammad Shahid Niaz termed Dr Majid Nizami a great philosopher, a mobile university and a true teacher. He said that late Dr Nizami always stood for principle and never compromised on truth.

While eulogizing Majid Nizami’s services, Tehsildar Mohammad Ashraf Saleh said that from Nazria-i-Pakistan to Nawa-i-Waqt Group, Majid Nazami’s services were source of pride for the country and the nation and his departure had equally shocked him, the journalist community and Nazria-i-Pakistan and all of us are really very sad. Nazami Sahib was honest, dutiful and true patriotic Pakistani. Advocate Iffat Tahira Soomro while paying glowing tribute to the departed soul said that Pakistan was deprived of its heart and “we as a nation are breathing on ventilator.” “As a Pakistani he has left a lot for us to learn. He stood like a rock against dictators and today his name is among the few honest people of the world,” she narrated.
Saqib Mushtaq said that Majid Nizami was a beacon light for young journalists and by following in his footsteps we can become good Pakistanis and true journalists.
Dr Rasheed Ahmed Yazdani said that Pakistan was a university and “the head of this university has left us and the whole Pakistani nation is sad to loose him.”
The programme started with recitation of holy Quran and Syed Bagh Ali Naqvi presented Tilawat. People from different walks of life including DSP Mehr Noor, Tehisldar Mian Mohammad Ashraf Saleh, DEC Shakeel Ahmed, Anjuman-i-Tajran President Sh Iftikhar-ud-Din Tari, Bar Association General Secretary Malik Jamil Arain, PML-N District President Rao Mohammad Nasir and many other dignitaries of the area were present on the occasion.
Later, Allama Mohammad Nawaz Qadri led special prayer for the eternal peace of the departed soul of late Dr Majid Nizami.
