It is vital to mention here that the Interior Ministry on the orders of the Special Court had formed a four-member FIA team to re-investigate a high treason case against former President Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the then Law Minister Zahid Hamid.

A three-member special court, headed by Justice Faisal Arab, and comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali, in its judgment, ordered on Nov 27 that the FIA should re-investigate the case by recording statements of Musharraf, Abdul Hameed Dogar, Shaukat Aziz and Zahid Hamid and submit a report on Dec 17.

The court ruled that in case an investigation was not completed by Dec 17, the FIA investigation team would furnish a progress report in writing, disclosing the stage of investigation.
