The Punjab government was going to declare education emergency in Punjab with a view to bringing 100 per cent kids to the schools, a district officer claimed.

The district coordination officer of Multan was chairing a meeting held to review the performance of Education Department here on Wednesday. He said that strict legal action would be initiated against the parents who do not send their children to schools.

He disclosed that the district administration had decided to supply tablet computers to schools with a view to offering latest curricular facilities to the students of government schools. He issued order for the supply of tablets to the schools and asked the Education Department to introduce online teaching method at the schools.

He warned that action would be initiated against the heads of schools showing poor results. He said that the time had come to get rid of obsolete education system and adopt new methods to teach the kids. He said that the results of the government schools could be improved by educating teachers.

“A comprehensive strategy is being devised for increasing pay scale of the teachers and offering them other perks,” DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal said. He warned that he would carry out surprise visit of four government schools daily and action would be taken against absent or late coming staff.
