ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed ambassador of the United States David Hale called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today and both discussed Pakistan-US bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Afghan reconciliation process also came under discussion during the meeting, a source at the PM House told The Nation. The US envoy appreciated efforts of Pakistan for regional peace and elimination of terrorism. He also hailed the sacrifices rendered by security forces and nation, for restoring peace in the country. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Ambassador-designate to Bahrain Javed Malik also met the prime minister to apprise him about his responsibilities and new tasks.
