Pakistani democracy has inherited the dynastic politics in the form of Bhutto and Sharif family. Despite many efforts to get rid of this phenomenon, the familial politics is becoming a permanent part of Pakistani politics. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf portrayed itself as a political party that was against the dynastic politics. However, now it appears that the PTI is also becoming a part of the wider dynastic politics in Pakistan by nominating Ali Tareen as the candidate for NA-154.

One may argue that the political milieu of Pakistan is such that the country is not mature enough to accommodate the ideological parties; therefore, the dynastic politics fill the political void because otherwise there would be a vacuum of political leadership.
