Rupee recovers 72 paisas vs dollar

ISLAMABAD  - The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee strengthened by 72 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Thursday to close at Rs177.51 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 178.23. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs179 and Rs180.3 respectively. Similarly, the price of the euro depreciated by 10 paisas and closed at Rs200.87 against the last day’s trading of Rs200.97, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen lost one paisa to close at Rs1.54, whereas a decrease of 10 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs239.03 as compared to its last closing of Rs239.13. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by 19 paisas to close at Rs48.32 and Rs47.28 respectively.
