A rocket fired by militants in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip struck southern Israel on Saturday, causing no injuries, the Israeli military said. The rocket, which landed near the Israeli city of Ashkelon, was one of a few to hit the Jewish state since a Jan. 18ceasefire with the Islamist group Hamas ended 22 days of fighting in the Gaza Strip.
