LAHORE - Late Abual Asr Hafeez Jullundhari was a true devotee of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and he considered Pakistan as a gift of God. His entire life was devoted to the holy worship and welfare of people. This was stated by Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Vice Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust while addressing the participants who visited Mazar-e-Hafeez in the premises of Minar-e-Pakistan on Friday. He said Hafeez Jullundhari was a great patriot and it was for this reason that Allah Almighty gave him an opportunity to author the national anthem. He said a need was felt for the national anthem in 1950 on the arrival of arrival Shah-e-Iran. Later Ahmad Din Chagla cast the music on the poetry of Hafeez Jullundhari, who was also author of Shahnama-e-Islam. His national songs became popular in 1965. DG Horticulture Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry also addressed. The delegation led by Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad laid floral wreath at the mazar. Pir Mohammad Shafique Saifi led the prayers. Students of Moonlight School presented Guard of Honour. Special sitting A special sitting in the memory of Abual Asr Hafeez Jullundhari, author of national anthem, will be organised by Nazria Pakistan Trust in collaboration with Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan today (Saturday) at 10:30 am. Chief Justice (r) Mian Mahboob Ahmad will preside over the ceremony. Proceedings continue at GCU Proceedings of the 11th National Symposium on Frontiers of Physics continued for the second day at GC University. Total 22 papers were presented in two parallel sessions by the speakers from different universities and organisations such as PAEC and NESCOM of Pakistan. Foreign Faculty, Professor Dr Saleem Ullah spoke on his research on quantum plasmas while Dr Riaz Khan from the National Fusion Programme presented his research on Tokamak simulations. Dr Sabieh Anwar from LUMS gave an interesting presentation on seeing chemicals & physical reactions through nuclear spins. Dr A S Bhatti spoke on biosensors in the emerging field of Nano Technology. The day concluded with a general body meeting of the Pakistan Physical Society where former president and organisers of the conference spoke on the importance of holding such meetings more regularly.
