7 terrorists arrested in Nowshera

NOWSHERA Nowshera police apprehended seven key terrorists in two separate raids here on Saturday. Sources informed that in the first incident, officers of criminal investigation department raided a house in refugee camp near Aza Khel area and arrested four Afghanistan-based Taliban militants, while five others made their escape good. Police also recovered a hand grenade from their possession. Police said that arrested persons were involved in attack on Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, attack on MPA Orangzeb Khan and some other terrorists activities while one of the important commanders Mohammad Amin made good his escape from the scene. Separately, police raided another house in Akbarpura area, where four Swat-based Taliban had taken refuge. The arrested persons also included three brothers who are resident of Shamozo village of district Swat. They were identified as commander Hasan, Hussain and Saeed while the name of the fourth person could not be ascertained. The arrested persons were wanted to security forces for involvement in several incidents of terrorism. They were shifted to unknown location for interrogation. Meanwhile in another incident, three proclaimed offenders were arrested during exchange of firing with police in Lund Khwar area of Mardan. The arrested persons were identified as Tariiq son of Ghulam Haider, resident of Ghwando and Anwar Ali son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Rahat Abad and Zaman son of Mohammad. Police also recovered one 2-D car bearing registration No. TMA-17, one hand grenade, some guns and one pistol.
