PESHAWAR - The city police arrested two fake currency notes makers and recovered fake currency notes along with fake educational degrees from a factory in Saddar area on Monday. Talking to media in Gharbi Police Station, SP Cantonment Dr Mian Saeed said he received a tip-off regarding the presence of a factory making fake degrees and currency notes. He said the police raided the said factory in Saddar area and arrested two persons including owner of the factory Mujeeb-ur-Rahman on the spot. They have been shifted to lock up and investigation has been started from them, he added. Meanwhile, the Poverty Eradication Initiatives in collaboration with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and Hope International, Canada, has donated medicines worth over Rs 2.5 million to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar.The emergency medicines were handed over to the Chief Executive (CEO) of LRH Dr Arshad Javed by the Director Operations PEI Faiz Ur Rehman, in a ceremony jointly organized by PEI’s, CEO LRH and Pakistan’s Honorary Investment Counselor at Vancouver (Canada) Mr. Shahid Yusaf. Doctors, social workers and representative of the other NGOs were also present at the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arshad Javed thanked PEI for donating life saving medicines to the largest Teaching care centre. Faizur Rehman said the provision of medicines to LRH was part of the PEI efforts to provide them enough medicines to make the administration able to save the precious lives of the masses. He said the PEI was focusing on health sector to improve health care services in Pakistan.
