rawalpindi - The Federal Ombudsman has summoned General Manager (GM) and Executive Sales Officer of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Rawalpindi Zone for not providing Sui gas connection to a citizen despite passage of three years.
According to sources, a citizen namely Raja Arshad Mehmood lodged an online complaint number WMS-ONL/0000474/16 with the Federal Ombudsman stating that he had applied for getting a domestic gas connection for his house located at Hamid Jhangi, Gujar Khan in 2012. He said that the SNGPL high-ups have started humiliating him despite issuing a demand notice for the said connection.
He mentioned that the SNGPL officials informed him in 2015 that there were two IDs on his name found in record of the SNGPL and a gas meter was already issued in his name in Pindi. Raja Arshad appealed to the Federal Ombudsman to take action against the company and provided him justice.
Taking action, the Federal Ombudsman wrote a letter with subject “Unjust issuance of additional demand notice” dated January 27, 2016 while summoning the GM and ESO of SNGPL, GT Road, Soan for hearing on 11/2/2016, sources said.
The ombudsman also directed the high-up to bring complete record of the case and produce the attested legitimate copies of all supporting documents/relevant law, rules and regulations on the date of hearing that would be taken place at Room Number 25 at 10:00am in the Ombudsman secretariat, sources added.
The Nation owned the copy of letter. Despite repeated attempts, the MD and ESO of SNGPL were not available for their comments on the issue.
