KARACHI - Commenting on the arrest of notorious leader of Lyari gang war, the spiritual leader of Hurs and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief, Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi has said that after the shocking revelation against Zardari by Dr Asim Hussain, it is Uzair Baloch’s turn to disclose the name of his facilitators.
He was talking to the media men at his residence Kangri House here on Saturday after a meeting with Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq.
Criticising the government for its failure to maintain law and order, he said government had tasked the law enforcement agencies to maintain peace but on the other hand, government itself is creating hurdles for the LEAs in discharging their duties. He was of the view that maintaining law and order is not a cup of tea for the police department. Pakistan Army, Rangers and security agencies were given responsibilities to maintain peace while on arrest of any criminal and gangsters, Sindh government has started making hue and cry.
Recently, Rangers have arrested a key gangster leader Uzair Baloch who is going to make shocking revelations. Earlier, Dr Asim did the job and now it is Uzair’s turn, he added. He further said people were aware of corruption of every institution. Pakistan should be made corruption free and the basic needs of people should be fulfilled by the government, he maintained.
Speaking on the occasion, JI chief Sirajul Haq said, “Corruption is the root cause of all evils and miseries of the country.” He elaborated that Pakistan is currently under the burden of $70 billion while the corrupt ruling regime has so far transferred more than $375 billion abroad. He said the situation had been deteriorated at a level when officials of the World Bank are confessing that the Pakistani government does not spend the loan money for the purpose it sought the load. He said such worst situation cannot be tolerated any more. The lives of people have become cheaper than the daily life essential items. There is no value of life and the government has miserably failed to resolve or even mitigate the issues of people, instead it is increasing the problems of common men. Not only all the political workers but people from all walks of life including students, lawyers, teachers, doctors, engineers, traders and journalists would be invited to join the JI’s massive campaign against corruption, he said. The JI chief added no nation can progress on the basis of foreign loans. Only the ruling regime and their families are the only beneficiaries of these hefty foreign loans.
Earlier, JI delegation, led by party chief Sirajul Haq, was warmly welcomed by Pir Sahab Pagara. During the meeting, various issues came under discussion. The JI chief also invited the PML-F chief to support and join the upcoming campaign of JI movement against corruption and poverty. Siraj also praised the role and services of Pagara family for the country. The PML-F chief invited the JI to join the Grand Alliance against the PPP-led provincial government.
