Dr Muhammad Hayat Kalasson, member of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) yesterday appealed to the Lahore High Court Chief Justice to take action against District & Sessions judge Okara for accepting pre-arrest bail application of a man committed dacoity at his house in Okara district.

The judge, Mr. Kalasson said, granted bail to Akbar despite the fact that he was absconder and wanted to police in many other heinous crimes. He said he argued before the court and presented all evidence that Akbar was member of dacoit-gang and was involved in heinous crimes due to which he was wanted to police even then the court accepted his bail application. “It is the misuse of authority and murder of justice,” claimed Mr Kalasson while talking to media outside sessions court yesterday.

Ghafoor, peasant at the land of Mr Kalasson, lodged FIR no 329/14 with the Chochak Police of Okara District under section 395/397 of PPC against Akbar, Noor, Ghareeb Alam and 11 others for torturing him, his wife and two others and looting Rs100,000, a cow and 2 tolas gold.

“It is totally unjustified that how the court accepted his plea despite that the accused was wanted to police,” said the lawyer adding that “ I’m lawyer, I and my family members are under threat,”. Two years have passed but the police neither arrested the culprits, nor conducted the investigation, he said.

Mr. Kalasson pleaded the LHC Chief Justice to summon case record, examine it and take action against the judge for misusing his power and authority.
