ISLAMABAD  - The PML-N MNA from Capital area, Anjum Aqeel Khan, Wednesday said that local owners be allowed to develop their land in line with CDA standards to overcome the accommodation shortage conditions in the city. Speaking in a PTV programme the MNA said that it takes long for CDA to develop a sector and the backlog of the accommodation shortage is rapidly increasing. He said a number of government employees in capital fail to get official residence throughout their service and consequently the Katchi Abadis are expanded. He suggested that locals be given due share in employment opportunities in the capital to reduce pressure on the housing sector. He complained that education and health facilities in the capital area had not been given due attention vis-a-vis the population growth adding these areas need urgent attention of the authorities. The MNA appreciated the performance of CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari saying in his tenure a number of development projects were initiated and accomplished in the city besides settlement of decades long land dispute between the owners and authority.
