LAHORE - Deputy Project Director Special Repair Locomotive Nusrullah Khan has said Wednesday that the Pakistan Railways has started work on the project to rehabilitate its 36 diesel electric engines with an estimated cost of Rs 1.6 billion and this project would be completed by December 2009. He said that under this project first diesel electric engine has been rehabilitated successfully and handed over to the Railways' Operations Department. Chairman Railways Mohammad Kashif Murtaza handed over the engine during a ceremony held here at Loco Shop Mughalpura on Wednesday. GM Operations Nasir Ahmed Zaidi, GM Manufacturing and Services Asad Saeed GM Welfare and Training Farooq Aziz were also present on this occasion besides other senior officials. Chairman Railways Mohammad Kashif Murtaza also spoke on this occasion.
