Boxing camps promote healthy activities in Lyari

KARACHI Secretary Karachi South Boxing Association Muhammad Asghar Baloch here on Friday said that his association was organising seventh Summer Boxing Coaching Camp in four-years and added such camps were aimed at promoting healthy activities in the district. He said that such boxing training camps would not only enhance the skill level of the young pugilists but also develop their approach. He added that such camps would also provide opportunities to the young pugilists for participating in the international events. Providing the details about the ongoing summer boxing camp, Asghar Baloch said that the second round of the camp had started at Azad Baloch Boxing Club where the boxers from different local clubs were participating included Azad Baloch Club, Pak National Club, Lyari Labour Welfare Central Club, Muslim Azad Club, Allied Club, RCD Club, Lyari Project Club, Young Lyari Club, Pak Shaheen Club, Young Baloch Club, Sarbaz Club and Green Flag Club. The camp is being run by national and international coaches. He said that without receiving much support, his association had organised several boxing events to promote the sport and would continue its mission to produce international standard boxers from the said district. Three district had proud that at least 80% boxers from the district South got selected on merit in national teams whenever they were formed, said Asghar. He also thanked the Sindh Sport Board, National Bank of Pakistan, administrator Lyari town and others for co-operating to set up the summer camp and said that their co-operation would definitely encourage the poor boxers. He also praised the efforts of the former Pakistani Olympians including Malang Baloch, Jan Baloch Babo Raheem, MM Mehdi, Mushtaq Ahmed and others for supervising the camp to train the young boxers.
