1,137 outlaws nicked in six months

The City Circle Police claimed that they arrested 1,137 outlaws over the past six months and 1,260 cases registered against culprits involved in different crimes. Besides stolen property worth Rs2.7 million was also recovered from their possession.
ASP Zeeshan Shafiq Sadiqui disclosed this during a press conference here the other day.
He said that 1,137 outlaws involved in murder, dacoities, highway robberies and other crimes of heinous nature also arrested in the corresponding period.
He said that the police registered eight murder cases and arrested six of them. The police registered 21 attempted to murder cases and arrested 34 criminals. The police also registered nine rape cases and 14 rapists were arrested, 35 cases of robberies registered from which 30 criminals arrested. The police also recovered articles worth Rs165,000 from their possession.
The police also registered 90 cases against street criminals and arrested 91 such criminals while recovered articles worth Rs2600,000 from their possession.
He pointed out that total of 124 cases registered during six month under illegal arms possession act and the accused arrested besides the recovery of 6 riffles, 6 guns, 96 pistols, 6 revolvers, 6 carbines and 103 cartridges from the accused.
The ASP disclosed that during the same months, another 104 cases were registered under Narcotics Act and 119 accused arrested during a special anti-narcotics campaign. The police seized 25 kg of Chars, 4,500 litres of liquor, 520 bottles of imported liquor, 12 active stills, 950 litres of Lehan, 3 drum and 325 of gram heroine. The police have also registered 18 cases against the gamblers.
The City Circle Police arrested 18 criminals of category A, 210 criminals of Category-B and 108 proclaimed offender in the corresponding period.
The also arrested six members of Cattle theft gang and recovered animals worth Rs1,648,000 from them.
 The police also busted the Hassan Gang and arrested its 9 members.  The police also recovered laptop, jewellery, motorcycle, Rs6,544,745 and 4 pistols from their possession.
