LOS ANGELES: Chloë Grace Moretz realises she can’t behave like a “crazy fan” when she is working with Hollywood legends.

The 16-year-old actress has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Martin Scorsese, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, Denzel Washington and Sir Ben Kingsley. Chloë often has to remind herself to be professional when she is shooting alongside a big name.

“Oh sure,” she told Empire magazine when asked if it’s hard not to be star struck. “People like Julianne Moore or Michelle Pfeiffer on Dark Shadows. I grew up watching them and they’re brilliant actresses, so you do have a point where you think, ‘How am I here acting with you? How is that a thing that’s happening?’ So that does blow your mind. I try to let that happen on the first day. You can’t be some crazy fan while you’re acting opposite them. You’ll just come off really hungry and weird.”

Chloë was directed by Martin for the Oscar-winning 2011 film Hugo. She realised it was important to remain calm when facing the prospect of working with the iconic filmmaker. It also became clear that her young years proved advantageous, as she hasn’t seen all of his movies.  “Exactly. I could just be with him and not totally idolise him,” she explained. “I try not to idolise anyone when I’m working with them because I don’t think that’s very helpful when you’ve got to work with them every day. You need to be on the same level.”–BE
