ISLAMABAD - Seafood exports from the country on year-on-year basis increased by 11.54 per cent in June 2013 when compared to the trade of the same month of the last year. The fish exports during June 2013 were recorded at $26.456 million against the exports of $23.718 million recorded during June 2012, according to the data of PBS. In terms of quantity, the seafood exports surged by 24.50pc as it went up from the trade of 10,598 metric tons in June 2012 to 13,194 metric tons in June 2013.

On month-on-month basis, the exports of fish and fish preparations, however, decreased by 25.21 percent in June 2013 when compared to the exports of $35.375 million recorded during May 2013.

In terms of quantity, the exports of fish and fish preparations decreased from 18,360 metric tons in May 2013 to 13,194 metric tons in June 2013, showing negative growth of 28.14 percent.

The seafood exports from the country during July-June (2012-13) were recorded at $317.612 million against the exports of $319.926 million, showing negative growth of 0.72 percent.
