The federal government has decided to take consumers and general public into confidence on its energy policy with a view to easing growing tension in the society. Sources said that the decision is taken on a special directive from the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and a number of measures will be adopted to calm down the situation besides achieving goals successfully. Sources claimed that pre-paid electricity meters will be installed in first step to check power theft. Sources said that it would prove an important milestone in government’s energy policy.

THREE NEGLIGENT OFFICIALS PUNISHED: Meanwhile, the Multan Electric Power Company punished its three officials for negligence and poor performance. According to details, line superintendent of Mepco Quetta Road sub-division Dera Ghazi Khan Abdul Khaliq is suspended for showing poor performance. Similarly, the annual increments of two sub divisional clerks namely Sarfaraz Ahmad and Riaz Hussain have been stopped.

Mepco accomplishes 27 LT schemes at Rs21.8 m

Meanwhile, a Mepco source disclosed that the company accomplished 27 low tension schemes at a cost of over Rs21.8 million for giving new connections to the applicants. The schemes have been executed with the joint funding of Asian Development Bank and Mepco and they have been accomplished in different circles of Mepco region.

APS&Cs top SCC exams: The students of Army public schools and colleges (APS&C) have shown outstanding results in the secondary school certificate examination 2013 held by the Federal Board of Education Islamabad as the board has announced the results.

Multan Corps Commander Lt-Gen Abid Parvez has congratulated position holder students and hailed the hard work of teachers and parents.

According to details, Mah Zainab of Girls Wing stood first with 1019 out of 1050 marks while Syeda Areeba second with 1001 marks. Similarly, Rabia Shahid secured third position with 999 marks.

Among boys, Shahram Ahmad clinched first position with 1,000 marks while Muhammad Talha Ali Bhatti stood second with 996 marks and Huzaifa Ali Khan third with 977 marks.
