Kamalia police arrested a seven-member gang involved in transportation of narcotics and recovered from them four maund Hashish worth Rs50 million.

DSP Rana Ghulam Murtaza and his team had raided a van in which four women and three men of a family from Lahore were travelling. They were in a bid to supply narcotics to different cities. The arrested persons were identified as Sobia, Shabana, Bilqees, Sharifan, Abbas, Ibrar and Akbar. DPO Dr Asif Shahzad announced prizes and certificates for the raiding police team.

SEC 144 IMPOSED: The district administration has imposed a ban on pillion riding for July 31 and August 1, gathering of five or more persons, exhibition of arms, holding of public meetings and rallies, standing on roofs, wall chalking and distribution of pamphlets containing objectionable material in Gojra tehsel. The ban has been imposed regarding upcoming fourth anniversary of Gojra riots which had spread after desecration of Quran.
