LAHORE: A 20-year-old man committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in the Harbanspura police limits on Tuesday, sources said.

The family told the police that Zeeshan Ali consumed poisonous pills after he exchanged harsh words with the family members over a domestic issue. The resident of Hamza Street, Zeeshan, was rushed to hospital, where he died. The police handed over the body to family without autopsy.

Found dead

A 60-year-old man was found dead from the Nolakha police area. Police said that the man, unidentified so far, was lying dead outside the police station building. The body was moved to morgue.

The police investigators say they believe the deceased was a drug addict. Further investigation is underway.


The Old Anarkali police have registered a fraud case against an immigration consultant firm for plundering hundreds of thousands of rupees from a number of applicants by issuing them fake certificates.

The police registered the FIR (376/13) against Hasham consultant located in the Touheed Center in the Old Anarlaki bazaar on the complaint of Muhammad Yousaf.

The complainant told the police that his British visa had been rejected because of the fake language certificate issued by the said consultant firm. He also alleged that the firm also collected Rs100000 fees from more than 35 applicants for the language course. The police are investigating.–Staff Reporter
