KAMALIA-The government has successfully decreased the loadshedding in the country during the last three years, MNA Asadur Rehman claimed.

The PML-N government has controlled the loadshedding and it will be completely eliminated by 2018 through new development projects. Current surge in loadshedding is due to technical faults in Mangla Dam power plant which will be fixed in coming days.

He was talking to journalists after inaugurating Ravi, Jakhar and Kalera Feeders at Kamalia Grid Station. He said that people were fed up with loadshedding three years ago and there were no projects in place to meet power consumption.

The government has not only fulfilled the promises to increase annual electric power, but also has planned to eliminate loadshedding by the end of 2018 by starting new electricity generating projects such as Quad-e-Azam Solar Park and many others.

He added that the federal and provincial governments continue development projects without delay which are promptly bringing relief to the people. FESCO Kamalia Division Executive Engineer Mehr Afzal Kathia said that projects of more than Rs1 billion have been completed at FESCO Kamalia Division in the past three years, which include new transformers, main lines and provision of electricity to Kamalia from Fesco. He said that after completion of these development and expansion projects, Kamalia Grid Station will not require more machinery for next 20 years.
