LAHORE - PTI Chairman Imran Khan has alleged that corruption is going up because of the National Accountability Bureau and the menace will come down once this institution is wound up.

In a TV interview last night, he said the PTI’s campaign starting on August 7 is aimed at exposing the NAB and other institutions which are not delivering. Also, he said, it was targeted at creating awareness among the masses.

The NAB, he said, was like a puppet for the rulers. It has been left with no credibility after it dropped the charges against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The PTI, he said, was thinking of taking corruption cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members to the Supreme Court.

Answering a question, he said he was not satisfied with the selection of new Election Commission members. In his opinion the Supreme Court should pick the ECP members.

Replying to another question, he said he intended to remarry as every successful person had a secret behind his successes. Marriage, he said, gave a person the real pleasure. However, he gave no details of his sweetheart and when he would tie the knot.

The PTI chairman married twice in the past, but both marriages ended in separation.

Jemima Khan went back to London along with her two sons from Imran and Reham Khan rejoined the media after briefly remaining life partner of the cricketer-turned-politician.

He defended the performance of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said a law was being introduced in KP to depoliticise the police. Similarly, an independent accountability commission would be set up in KP in about a week.

To eradicate corruption, a law would be enacted under which those giving credible information about corruption would be given 25 percent of the amount involved.
