RAJANPUR-City Police registered a criminal case against 38 persons including the deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly, his father and six police personnel on the directions of the court after more than seven years on the charge of grabbing land.

On the Petition No. 5077/2013 of Sardar Chand Khan Derishak, the Lahore High Court Multan Bench had directed the police to institute a case against Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sher Ali Khan Gorchani, his father Sardar Pervaiz Iqbal Khan Gorchani, six police personnel namely former SHO Police Station City Rajanpur Azhar, presently posted in Punjab Highway Police, former sub inspector of City police Maher Farooq, presently posted at Police Line Rajanpur, former sub inspector Ghulam Akbar Khan, presently posted at Special Branch, former sub inspector Malik Ghulam Nabi, presently posted at Police line Rajanpur, former SHO Harand Khalid Saleem, presently posted at Police Post Ladan, martyred SHO Ghulam Shabir in 2011 and 30 others unidentified persons.

As per Rajanpur Police, a case vide FIR No. 357/16 under section 148,149,342,382 and 447 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) has been registered on the court order against accused on the charges of rioting with deadly weapons, unlawful assembly, wrongful confinement, committing theft and criminal trespass.

Talking to The Nation, Sardar Chand Khan Derishak shared that he had filed three petitions numbers 485/2009, 358/2009 and 5077/2013 in Lahore High Court Multan Bench Multan against the brutal handling of Rajnpur Police and extortion of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly and his father at the General Bus Stand Rajanpur.

He said that he constructed shops on the land of TMA Rajanpur after a legal agreement/permission but accused illegally occupied his shops along with general bus stand.

He said he had filed another writ petition in Lahore High Court Multan Bench Multan for disqualification of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani as now a criminal case has been registered against him.
