ISLAMABAD - President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Asif Ali Zardari appointed veteran party leader and former federal minister Syed Naveed Qamar as party’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly.

Political Secretary to President PPPP Rukhsana Bangash issued the notification yesterday.

The slot of parliamentary leader was vacant since the demise of former president PPPP and party’s parliamentary leader in the lower house of the Parliament Makhdoom Amin Fahim and the party’s affairs in the house were being managed jointly by Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah and Deputy Parliamentary Ejaz Jakharani.

Sources in the party informed that in last meeting of the party’s top-leadership in Dubai the decision of bringing Syed Naveed Qamar on the slot of parliamentary leader in the National Assembly was made to transform the party into a vibrant opposition in the lower house of the Parliament.

Sources further informed that during the meeting it was decided that some structural changes in the party’s hierarchy would likely in the coming days and to start with the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah was replaced with a young and dynamic personality.

Sources said that during the meeting party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made it loud and clear that everyone in the party has to deliver especially those who are holding party and parliamentary offices should not be spared for showing slackness.

Sources further said that it was further decided in the meeting that the all tiers of the party would be revamped and new and energetic people would be assigned the key party positions.
