MDC claims victory in Zimbabwe election: senior party official

Senior MDC opposition party official Tendai Biti on Tuesday said MDC leader Nelson Chamisa had won Zimbabwe's presidential election, and alleged the release of results was being deliberately delayed by authorities.

"The results show beyond reasonable doubt that we have won the election and that the next president of Zimbabwe is Nelson Chamisa," said Biti, a respected finance minister in the 2009-13 power-sharing government.
