ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged yesterday that Prime Minister Imran Khan was gathering all ‘political orphans’ of Sindh to counter the PPP in the province but he will fail. Speaking to journalists here, Bilawal said Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf had no standing in Sindh. “He lost elections in Karachi and will lose everywhere in Sindh. In the general elections, the PTI will be defeated across Pakistan,” he said. The PPP leader, who met the winning candidates of the party in the Azad Jammu Kashmir elections, said that the future belonged to the PPP. “The Pakistani people have seen the change of Imran Khan across the country. The people of Sindh also know him. The PM wants to conquer Sindh but he suffered a shocking defeat from Karachi recently,” he said. Bilawal said the federal government rigged the elections in AJK but still the PPP managed to win several seats. He said that PPP is the largest opposition party in Azad Kashmir Assembly. “We will give a tough time to the government of Azad Kashmir together with other parties and expose the rigging. The PPP had the right to form a government in Azad Kashmir but this right was snatched from us. “We will give a tough time to this fake government in elections of PM, Speaker and reserved seats with the other opposition parties,” he said. Bilawal said that there had never been such rigging in elections of Azad Kashmir in history. “The Minister for Kashmir Affairs was caught distributing money,” he reminded. He added: “The Election Commission barred him from entering Kashmir but it was violated. By removing the Kashmir seats in Pakistan, if we only look at the Kashmir elections, this government did not get a clear majority. Now the money will be used to become the Prime Minister, speaker and ministers. We will work with the opposition to formulate a strategy in Kashmir against this government.” Replying to a question on electronic voting machine, Bilawal said that PPP had been leading the struggle for free and fair elections. “Rigging is always against the PPP,” he said. Even in the past, he said, rigging was done to stop Benazir Bhutto. “Whenever the PPP has made electoral reforms, they have reached a consensus. The electronic voting machine has been maliciously proposed. The Election Commission of Pakistan does not support this proposal either. This government has always tried to humiliate the ECP. We cannot give importance to this suggestion. In response to a question,” Bilawal said.
