ISLAMABAD Despite colleting air ticket and other expenses from the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas Khan did not visit England to take part in the Canary Wharf Classic Squash Championship held in London from March 20-26. A source told TheNation that the PSF had provided all facilities to Aamir Atlas Khan for featuring in the international squash event that had prize money of US$52,000. Source further said that he (Aamir) had no excuse in pulling out from the event. He always blames the federation for not providing sponsorship for foreign trips but when the federation arranges money, Aamir does not bother to go abroad for international competitions, he viewed. He said that he could not perform well in the recently concluded two events in America and Malaysia respectively in which he lost second round matches against Ramy Ashour from Egypt. Aamir is not performing well and he was not expecting to produce acceptable results in the Londons fixture, he viewed. Aamir Atlas Khan told this scribe that he was hundred per cent fit for the competition but he was facing some personal problem. I cannot disclose the reason but I was fit for the Canary Wharf Classic Squash Championship 2010, he said. This scribe tried his best to contact officials of Pakistan Squash Federation but failed to contact.
