PESHAWAR (APP) At least thirty seven militants were killed, 22 injured and eight hideouts destroyed, as jet fighters aircraft pounded the suspected hideouts of militants in Orakzai agency on Tuesday. The jet fighters targeted suspected positions of militants in Anjani area in lower Orakzai agency which resulted in killing of six militants and destruction of three compounds of the banned outfit of the militants. Similarly twenty militants were killed and ten other injured when the fighter aircraft targeted militants hideouts in Arghunjo area of tehsil Mamozai in Upper Orakzai agency. Mamozai is a strong base of the defunct TTP Chief Hakimullah Meshud, whose death in US drone strike is still shrouded in mystery. Similarly nine more militants were gunned down by the gunship choppers during bombardment on the compounds of commander Nazir in Khwastori area in Lower Orakzai agency. Five hideouts were also destroyed during the strike. The operation against the militants had been launched a week back and, so far, dozens of militants have been killed and injured. Meanwhile police in Hangu districts arrested five suspected militants during raids. District Police Officer Hangu Farid Khan Bangash said important revelations were expected from the arrested accused during interrogation.
