Brother of 'Q' leader killed in Karachi

KARACHI - Three people including a brother of President of PML-Q Karachi were gunned down in different areas of the City on Tuesday. The younger brother of PML-Q Karachi President, Irfan Ali Hoti, was gunned down over showing resistance in a robbery bid at Ramswami area in Nabi Bux police precincts. Police said Irfan Ali Hoti was sitting outside the Hoti building situated at Bab-e-Ali Road with his friends where two unidentified suspects reached and asked them for valuables and mobile phones. They said Irfan offered resistance and the dacoits fired three bullets in his chest and legs and managed to flee from the scene. He was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi where he succumbed to his injuries. He was the younger brother of PML-Q leader and former senator Bostaan Ali Hoti. He left four daughters and a widow behind. He was a resident of Ramswami, Hoti building at flat no 6. Following the incidents, unidentified suspects started aerial-firing. The shops and markets were closed after the incident. Heavy contingent of law enforcers reached the area and controlled the situation. Nabi Bux police registered a case no 60/10 under Section 302 Pakistan Panel Code against unidentified suspects and initiated probe. In another incident, Sabir Hussain, 50, son of Muhammad Hussain, was killed over showing resistance in a robbery bid. He was living with with his colleagues at house no B-9/40, Ibn-e-Seena line in the limits of Brigade police station. According to police officials, the incident occurred when four unidentified suspects barged into their home and asked about cash. The victim Sabir offered resistance, upon which they fired several bullets in his body and managed to flee. However, the victims colleagues managed to catch one dacoit Mazhar Hussain and handed him over to police. The victim hailed from Baltistan and was a driver by profession. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. Police registered an FIR NO 153/2010 against unidentified persons and further investigation was underway. Meanwhile, a property dealer was gunned down over a business dispute in Khair Abad area within the limits of Manghopir police station. According to the police officials, the victim was identified as 35-years-old Ameer Bux, son of Muhammad Moosa. He was a resident of the Khair Abad. The incident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday. Three armed assailants came at his residence and open indiscriminate firing on him. Resultantly he died on the spot, they added. Police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later handed it over to his family. Police further said that the victim was a property dealer and father of four children. Police believed that a business dispute might be the reason behind the incident. The victim hailed from Balochistan. Police registered an FIR No 93/2010 against unidentified persons on the complaint of victim brother Qasim and further investigation was in progress.
