LAHORE The government has decided to create new posts in all nursing cadres besides promotion in next pay scales, and for this purpose a summary will be sent to the Chief Minister Punjab. It was announced by the Chairman Chief Minister Taskforce on health Dr. Saeed Elahi during a meeting with the representatives of Punjab Nursing Association. Besides Additional Secretary Health Technical Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sulerya, Director General Nursing Mrs. Nagis Butt, Deputy Secretary Health (Admn) Behzad Anwar and other officers attended the meeting. The delegation of Punjab Nursing Association apprised Dr. Saeed Elahi of their service related problems. The delegation demanded that a service structure for nurses should be formulated and their posts also be upgraded. They demanded increase in their uniform allowance besides issuance of special allowance for them. The delegation also demanded that the post of nurses should be increase according to the beds strength of the hospitals for better health care of the patients. The meeting discussed in detail issues raised by the Punjab Nursing Associations Delegation and Dr. Saeed Elahi assured them that new vacancies for nurses in all cadres would be created and a summary would soon be sent to the CM for the solution of nursing problems. Dr. Saeed Elahi directed the Additional Secretary Health to prepare a comprehensive summary with the assistance of the representatives of nurses, which to be sent to the CM for their early solution.
