LAHORE Pakistan film makers would enter joint venture with the Iranian film industry to produce movies depicting national issues and giving the people awareness about the same. Iran is the third largest film industry in the world with high quality technical facilities and Pakistan films makers are going to strike an agreement with it the next month for jointly producing the movies on the subjects which relate to cultural and historic values of both besides highlight our religious and national elements. Films producer, actress and chairperson of films Association Madam Sangeeta said this at a Press conference while flanked by film director Hassan Askari, Arshad Siddiqui, and actors Saood, actresses Noor, Nirma and others here Tuesday. The Press was also informed about the Pakistan Media Award 2010 being held on April 24 next in Karachi to reward the film, TV and technical persons of both mediums as well as journalists for their services. Sangeeta said to a question that they were now totally alive to the need of infusing the spirit of nationalism through the media of the film to the masses as it was the need of the hour. She said big showbiz industries in the world were adopting the channel of entertainment also to highlight the national and social issues to make the masses aware about them. She sounded upbeat about the development and progress of Pakistani film industry in the time to come after the Pakistan films makers led by her, would sign an accord with the Iranian film industry to seek technical support from it after it was catering to 80 per cent need of Indian films industry on the same score. Others on occasions highly appreciated announcement of the Media Award while in the same breath underscoring the need to help those technical and film persons who are living miserably despite giving their whole life to the film industry.
