LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said Pakistan Muslim League (N) believes in the politics of public service and elimination of poverty, ignorance, unemployment from the country as well as provision of justice to the people. He said all the energies were being utilised to ameliorate the lot of the poor people and bringing them in the mainstream of national development. He said that revolutionary measures were being made for providing education, healthcare and other basic facilities to the masses and first time in the history of the country, air-conditioners and generators have been installed in the hospitals of the province at a cost of billions of rupees. He expressed these views during meeting with National and Provincial Assembly Members belonging to various districts at Chief Ministers Secretariat, here on Tuesday. The assembly members apprised the Chief Minister of the pace of implementation on various development schemes and problems of their respective areas. The CM said that Punjab government had diverted the national resources towards poor people and various revolutionary projects are being carried out successfully in the province for providing relief to the deprived segments of the society. He said that completion of development schemes worth billions of rupees aimed at socio-economic uplift of the people and provision of basic amenities to them will leave far-reaching effect on the economy of the province. He said that provision of maximum facilities to the poor by reducing their miseries is our mission and all out resources are being utilized for this purpose. He said that free of cost medicines and dialysis facility was being made available to the patients in government hospitals. He said that a project of Mobile Health Dispensaries was also being launched for providing modern healthcare facilities to the people of far-flung areas of the province at their doorstep. He said that in addition to establishment of new hospitals, existing hospitals and rural health centers and basic health units were being upgraded besides availability of medicines and presence of doctors is also being ensured. He said that poor people have as much right on the national resources as the elite class therefore air-conditioners and generators have been installed in the hospitals of the province. The assembly members lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister aimed at provision of basic amenities to the poor people:. They said that embezzlement in the funds and corruption had been eliminated due to the measures taken by him besides timely and quality completion of various ongoing development projects has been ensured.
