ISLAMABAD - Senior Civil Judge Islamabad Mohammad Aslam Gondal on Wednesday gave Hamid Saeed Kazmi, former minister Religious Affairs, into the custody of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a judicial remand. Kazmi will be kept in the FIA headquarters that has been declared a sub jail. Wajid Ali Gillani, counsel for Kazmi, appeared in the court and objected to non-compilation of daily supplementary report of investigation. The court took serious notices of it and asked FIA Assistant Director (legal) Khalid Naeem Butt why the FIA could not compile supplementary reports from March 27 to 30. The assistant director informed the court that a letter used in the Haj scam with the signature of Hamid Saeed Kazmi has been traced and verified. He said complete details will be submitted with the challan. Kazmi has been kept in the FIA headquarters due to the prevailing security situation. The ex-minister requested the court to release him on parole on the eve of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhuttos anniversary.
