LAHORE – DIG (Operations) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has directed police to ensure strict enforcement of Shops & Security Ordinance at jewelry shops and jewelry market while immediate legal action should be taken against the jewelers who fail to implement the ordinance. He directed that police force should utilize all its energies and resources for the protection of life and property of citizens and the drive against criminal elements be intensified. He further directed that no leniency should be shown to the elements failing to cooperate with the police and implementation of the relevant laws.  
He was presiding over a high level meeting of operations wing for curbing the incidents of crimes at jewelry shops, here on Friday. Divisional SPs as well as other police officers were present. DIG (Operations) directed that additional vehicles provided to the divisions should be utilized only for patrolling in high crime rate areas and quick response to the calls on 15. He further directed that police patrolling should be double in high crime rate areas of every division compared to other areas.
He directed SPs to not only personally monitor patrolling in their respective division in the evening but also ensure that all SPOs and SHOs should patrol their respective areas from 7 to 9 pm.
DIG Operations Ghulam Muhammad Dogar emphasized that ongoing special crackdown against proclaimed offenders, absconders and other criminal elements launched on the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab and CCPO Lahore be intensified and warned that SHOs who failed to show satisfactory results till 5th April will have to face stern action.
He said that negligent officials would be taken to task and no criminal will be spared.
