LAHORE - The Punjab government transferred and posted six officers yesterday.

District Officer Human Resources Management Multan Faiqa Shaikh was transferred and his services were entrusted to the DG Multan Development Authority for new appointment.

Services of Rizwan Qadir, Director Finance Multan Development Authority, were referred to the Commissioner of Multan.

The transfer order of Ali Akhtar Saif Assistant Commissioner Bhakkar as Assistant Commissioner Sangla Hill was cancelled.

Aziz Rahman, Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Multan, was posted as Assistant Commissioner Kot Chatha, while Director finance Okara Hamza Ali was posted as additional Secretary Industries and Commerce.

Additional Collector Muhammad Riaz was given an additional charge of the Director Finance.

Better anti-dengue measures ordered: Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed all divisional commissioners to improve mechanism for dengue surveillance besides taking special measures for larviciding and ensuring availability of anti-mosquito spray.

Presiding over a video link meeting regarding dengue control at Civil Secretariat here yesterday, the chief secretary said that all necessary arrangements including procurement of insecticides and recruitment of staff must be completed in time. He stressed that concerted efforts are needed to eradicate dengue once and for all.

Gondal directed all the secretaries to extend full cooperation in anti-dengue activities and ensure full participation in Anti-dengue Day to be observed throughout the province on April 6. He ordered Health Secretary Ali Jan to speed up process of recruitment to posts of Assistant Entomologists and Environment Inspectors in five towns of Lahore besides recruitment of staff in districts on priority basis.

“Keeping in view the last year's experience, a better strategy should be adopted to cope with dengue during current year and situation be monitored regularly,” Gondal said while directing the Commissioners of Rawalpindi and Multan division.

He urged them to work with national spirit for eradicating dengue.
