JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday that the entry of a RAW agent in Balochistan on Iranian visa in the presence of Iranian president in Pakistan was a conspiracy aimed to derail Pak-Iran relations.
Talking to the journalists here at Jamia Qasimul Uloom, he added that the conspiracy was meant to disrupt Pak-Iran relations and this aspect should not be neglected. To a query, he said that RAW agents had been handed over to India in the past and nothing new would happen this time too. He lamented that on the one hand RAW agents were given respect while on the other hand the behaviour of government with religious people was rather inappropriate.
Referring to Islamabad sit-in, he said that the issues had been settled and the situation of Islamabad would improve soon. Answering to a question, he said that the democracy was not in trouble but it was the responsibility of all institutions to protect it in this situation.
He said that Mumtaz Qadri was the symbol of national unity. “It is inappropriate to brand him as a property of just one group,” he added. He said that the operation in South Punjab was nothing new but only religious people were being targeted in it which was an issue of serious concern. He maintained that the government did not fulfil the parameters of justice. He asked the government to correct the direction of operation to achieve positive results.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf leader MNA Jahangir Tareen has pointed out that the RAW agents were caught from KPK and other parts of the country and the time had come to part ways with the enemy to secure the ideological and geographical borders of the country.
Addressing a news conference here at the residence of Dr Rubina Akhtar, he added that the country is faced with multiple problems like terrorism and corruption, and asked the nation to support Pak Army to uproot terrorism from the country. He said that due to the poor management and corrupt practices of the rulers, the graph of national development plunged seriously. He said that the country was being run by the politicians whose entire assets were abroad.
To a query, he said that the technical experts were working to bring natural resources of KPK into use. He declared that the coal reservoirs would be utilised to generate power while other natural resources would pave way for a new era of development in KPK.
He told journalists that the Punjab Government had announced Rs20 million fund for education sector of Lodhran but the announced funds were not released so far. He claimed that the PTI would form government in centre and KPK in 2018 and put the country on path to progress. He said that the government spoiled billions of rupees on metro and Orange Line projects while the basic infrastructure needed to be revamped. He said that the nation did not need such projects which were being launched with the loan money.
