Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) became the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II 2016 crowned champions after thrashing Brighto Paints by 10 wickets in the final played here at Diamond Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

PIA required 28 runs for victory, which they easily achieved in only 4.2 overs without losing a single wicket. Oabidullah remained unbeaten at 15 and Kamran Sajid unbeaten at 13. Earlier, PIA resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 150-9 in 38 overs and after adding six runs to the overnight total, they were all out for 156 in 42.5 overs. Ahmed Bashir and Waqas Ahmed clinched four wickets each conceding 45 and 63 runs respectively, thus took 65-run first innings lead. Like first innings, Brighto Paints batting flopped once again in the second innings as their innings was folded at 92 in 24.4 overs. Farhan Khan remained unbeaten at 35. Aizaz Cheema ripped through top order grabbing 5-35 while Najaf Shah took 3-32 and Ali Imran Pasha 2-17. Aizaz Cheema was named player of the match for taking 10 wickets in the match. Ahsan Raza and Sajid Afridi were umpires while Iftikhar Ahmed was referee and Zafar Yasir scorer.
