Four robbers committed daylight robbery in the main central Sadar Bazaar on Wednesday.
They broke the locks of Pakistan Cloth House Shop situated at Block in the jurisdiction of City Police Station at about 7:15am and entered the shop in the presence of many people by using the shelter of arms.
They easily robbed and picked up the electronic cash box, prize bonds and valuable worth more than 0.35 million. Later, they fled in GLI Toyota Car (LED 9915).
Talking to The Nation, Zakriya Rehman said that ever increasing incident of robberies in the city especially in the remits of City Police Station have panicked traders and citizens. He added that city police had failed to control law and order therefore outlaws are robbing shops in the crowded bazaar. He also criticised the performance of police that despite calling at15, the police reached at the spot after one hour of incident.
When contacted, City Police Station SHO Allah Diwaya said that police were facing acute shortage of personnel. However, he said that robbers would be traced very soon. He also denied the allegation that concerned staff reached there after one hour. He also said that police had tracked the car.
