PESHAWAR - Two terrorists convicted for carrying out attacks on security forces and civilians, were hanged to death at District Jail Kohat on early Wednesday morning.

According to jail authorities, Mehmood and Rabnawaz, who were involved in several acts of terrorism including launching attacks on security forces and killing of civilians, were executed at District Jail Kohat yesterday.

The convicts were the active members of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a terrorist of banned TTP was arrested and arms were also recovered from his possession here yesterday.

The DPO Kohat said that heavy contingent of police on a tip-off conducted an operation in suburbs of main Kohat city and apprehended TTP terrorist Muhammad Iqbal along with weapons.

The nabbed terrorist was wanted by law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in several terror attacks, kidnapping and other serious crimes.

The detainee was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. Sources said that important revelation and more arrests were expected as investigation will proceed.
