Rawalpindi - An anti-terrorism court yesterday recorded statement of a prosecution witness in assassination case of PPP former chairperson Benazir Bhutto (BB). The cross-examination of witness Khalid Rasool could not be done by the defence lawyer due to absence of Barrister Faroogh Nasim, counsel for former military dictator Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf. The court adjourned hearing till April 1, 2016 while issuing notices to other witnesses for testimony.
According to details, Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth took up the BB murder case and recorded the statement of Federal Investigation Agency Deputy Director Wajid Zia. The court later made the statement of Wajid Zia as part of record.
On the other hand, the defence lawyer could not cross-examine the prosecution witness Khalid Rasool owing to absence of Barrister Faroogh Nasim. The court postponed the hearing till April 1 and also issued notices to other witnesses asking them to appear before court for their testimonies.
In the courtroom, former CPO Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shehzad were also present.
