ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis (OPF) Abdul Rehman Kanju has said that low-cost housing society project for overseas Pakistanis would be started soon.
He said this while addressing a seminar regarding allotment of plots to overseas Pakistanis. Secretary OPF Dr. Hashim Popalzai, Chairman Board of Governor Barrister Amjad Malik, MD Habib Ur Rehman also spoke on the occasion.
Kanju said giving allotment letters to overseas Pakistanis is a good omen. He said that the promotion issues of the OPF employees will be addressed soon. He said that there was a delay in the allotments of plots but OPF played a vital role in completing the project.
“Overseas Pakistanis are our asset and construction of low-cost housing scheme for them is on the cards,” he added.
Chairman OPF Amjad Malik said that the housing society was almost near to close down but the foundation played an important role in saving the scheme. He said corruption mafia was the main hurdle in completing the project.
Secretary Dr Hashim, on the occasion, said that resolving problems of overseas Pakistanis is the top priority of OPF, as they are playing important role in the development of the country.
“The government is ambitious to solve issues of overseas Pakistanis and we need to establish a strong relationship with them,” he added.
MD OPF Habib Ur Rehman said that OPF will provide free of cost site plan for making homes in the society to all members along with other facilities.
