LAHORE - Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) forced their way into last-eight of PFF U16 Football Youth Cup on Friday night when they hammered 5-1 win over Peshawar White in Group-F at Lala Dawood Stadium, Wazir Bagh, Peshawar City. Six-points FATA edged out Bannu to join Group-A Champion Chaman in next phase while other five qualifiers will be decided on Sunday. FATA staged recovery after conceding 9th minute goal by White's striker Maaz. Spearhead Akram Shah drew level in the 30th minute and midfielder Ehsan Ali put Sakhi Rehman's FATA 2-1 up in the 44th minute. Winger Hamid Khan, Noor Ullah and Qasim enhanced the lead further with goals in the 60th, 64th and 85th minute. In Group-B, Jacobabad earned first win by dislodging Karachi White 2-0 at Korangi Baloch Stadium, Sharafi Goth, Karachi. The winners struck once in each session with Aktiar Ullah scoring opener in the 12th minute, followed by Abid's 60th minute strike. Lahore Green kept 34th minute goal alive in Group-C by beating Lahore White 1-0 at Punjab University Ground, Old Campus, Lake Road, Chauburji, Lahore. The all-important goal was scored by striker Ahmed Nisar. Rawalpindi also snatched 1-0 win over Azad Jammu & Kashmir in Group-D at Quaid-i-Azam Ground, G-64, Embassy Road, Islamabad. Midfielder Muhammad Wasim slammed the lone goal with 20th minute header off free-kick. In Group-G, Faisalabad Green tasted their third straight defeat when they suffered 0-1 defeat at the hands of Faisalabad Red at Al-Tahir Football Ground, Chak 68 GB, Jhang Road, Faisalabad. Winger Anwar Ali landed the only goal of the tight finish in the 75th minute. Peshawar Blues, under former international keeper Muhammad Aslam, Khan, edged out Peshawar Red 1-0 in Group-E at Civil Quarter Ground, Kohat Road, near Peshawar Cant Railway Station, Peshawar. Nippy left winger Noor Ullah Shinwari gave sigh of relief to Aslam's team with brilliant strike in the 71st minute.
