Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that the government has once again ignored the real needs and paid lip service to the demands of the people. Aftab Sherpao, in a statement on the recent visit of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani to Swat, elaborated that the government policy with a unrealistic perspective has not succeeded in isolating the militants and the innocent people had to pay a heavy price. The crises in Swat valley has been left unaddressed in the address of the PM since the government is not serious about the plight of millions internally displaced people, the collapse of the local economy and the sense of deprivation among the masses. Aftab Sherpao noted that the education, socio economic frame work need to be put on a solid footing, Hollow promises and unrealistic slogans are not the need of the hour. The economy of the area and welfare of the people is the key to peace. The military operation has set the path for peace now the civil government has to take up its duty. Aftab Sherpao said that PPP Sherpao has always highlighted the plight of the people of Malakand and will continue to raise its voices for the innocent victims of swat in the Senate, National and Provincial assemblies and international forums.
