LAHORE - In accordance with the directions of Punjab Government, the Lahore General Hospital Administration has set up dengue counters at the Out Door and Emergency wards in order to guide and sensitise public.
Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff have been posted on the counters to curb emergency situations. A training workshop has also been arranged for the doctors and nurses to be trained for taking care and maintaining the record of dengue patients at Medical Unit three under the Health Education Program of Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lahore. A large number of participants associated with health sector attended this workshop. Dr Aiesha, Dr Rafad, Dr Amir Riaz, Dr Abbas, Dr Tahir Islam, Dr Tahira and Dr Hidayat delivered lectures. They told the participants about the symptoms, diagnose, and patients’ management regarding dengue patients.
Prof Anjum Habib Vohra, Principal PGMI and LGH told in this regard that standard operational Procedures to tackle dengue have been implemented at LGH. He stressed upon the doctors to focus on medical research and sensitise patients and their attendants about dengue. He said that SMS service has also been started to aware public about the menace. He appealed the civil society, media and religious scholars to play their due role to spread maximum awareness about cleanliness.
