London -Bestival is hoping to create the world's biggest disco ball for this year's festival. Nile Rodgers, who will close the 2014 event with his band Chic, says he wants their set to be the largest ever disco-party.

He challenged organiser Rob da Bank and festival bosses to come up with the centrepiece. The festival is hoping it will break the Guinness World Record. Bestival organisers have said that Rodgers' set at this year's festival will include hits from Chic, David Bowie and Madonna.

Disco pioneer DJ Nicky Siano has also been announced on the line up for the Sunday night of the event. Rodgers collaborated with Daft Punk on Get Lucky, which went on to become the second best selling single of 2013. The guitarist appeared alongside Pharrell Williams at this year's Brit Awards to perform the track.

The 61-year-old, who got the all-clear in his fight against prostate cancer last year, has also recently worked with Disclosure, Chase & Status, David Guetta and Aviici. The other headliners announced for this year's Bestival are Outkast, Beck and Foals. Busta Rhymes, London Grammar and Basement Jaxx are also on the bill for the event. This year's Bestival takes place on the Isle of Wight between 4 and 7 September.
