The Punjab government’s move to successfully tackle the inherently dangerous game of kite flying is indeed praiseworthy but the matter does not end there. The hobby of pigeon keeping/flying is quite common in our country, which is equally fatal considering the way our people go about it.
According to DCO’s orders, any object above the height of five feet height cannot be erected on a roof top and yet, pigeon lovers seem to be totally ignorant of this law and every pigeon keeper has built platforms for pigeons on their roof tops, some exceeding even 20 ft. Even some government buildings are being illegally used for the same purpose. This situation is quite alarming and could be fatal at any time for any one.
Therefore the concerned officials in the government are requested to look into the matter and take solid steps to overcome this menace.
