President Mammon Hussain has asked the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to play its role for the early and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The President took this stance as he feels the legitimate cause of the people of Kashmir must be addressed. The President appreciated the OIC’s consistent support for Kashmir. He welcomed the efforts of Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) on Jammu and Kashmir. The President thinks that the OIC should promote shared values, safeguard interests of the Muslims and promote solidarity among member states.
Pakistan should continue to play a constructive and dynamic role to re-invigorate the OIC and also to strengthen the Muslim brotherhood. If the Muslims of the world unite they can become a formidable force. Let us hope the OIC can achieve its full potential as a united voice of the Ummah.
